We stopped going to TMC over a decade ago due to non-availability. We do, however, put the property into RCI and get back 36 points which often gives us 4 to 6 weeks of vacations depending on the season and location. So I justify the expense as amortized over THOSE additional vacations. Of course, RCI adds on their weekly fee too so it doesn't come cheap.
