Who gave you this "objective assessment"? One recommended way to find an "objective assessment" is to log in to your E-Bay account (if you have one) and look at completed (not active) sales of similar units you own. That will give you a good idea of what people are actually paying for units like yours.
You might come to the harsh realization that your unit on the resale market is worth around zero dollars, or even less.
You can list your unit for sale or giveaway on reputable websites such as here on RedWeek. Timeshare Users Group (aka "TUG"; tugbbs.com) also is low cost to list. It also has a free giveaway section if you just want to give your unit away.
Whatever you do, never ever pay anyone a large, upfront fee to sell, rent out, or "cancel" your timeshare. Those are always scams.
