they can place liens on your timeshare all they want - they can't do anything with it, unless they short pay the tax bill and risk losing the building for nonpayment of property taxes.

They are looking to have you to give back your share for nothing, so they can own the entire building unencumbered and then sell it for multiples of what they paid for it
