Yes, while it might be " really hard to sell any timeshare" and that "there are 1000's listed for free or a couple of dollars", the "best advise (sic)" is not to "get it canceled through legal help". All these legal firms will do, if they're not scams, is charge you thousands of dollars to do something you can do yourself for a lot less money.

Better options would be to ask the resort's Homeowners' Association to take the unit back. It will cost a lot less than what these law firms charge. Or, you could list it for free giveaway here on RedWeek, or Timeshare Users Group's Bargain Deals section.
