Vegas Exchange/Rental: Midweek to Midweek Possible? (i.e., Wed-Wed) (by Mike N.):

Total newbie question here (great forum!).

I'm looking at the Vegas exchanges (rentals) that are available on Redweek.com and have noticed that there are some very "open-ended" dates available for most of the resorts.

Do most of these 7-night rentals have specific days of the week in mind? Like Sat to Sat or Sun to Sun?

If we have a trip planned that might be check-in on Wednesday and check-out on Monday morning, would that be something that would be worth exploring? Obviously we'd be fine with "burning" a couple of the days (i.e., Wed-Wed would work fine), but am curious if there is any way to get a "full weekend" included in one of those 7-day blocks.

Thanks for any info...

=========== The availability dates listed in the RedWeek rental should indicate check-in dates. So if this is a mid-week date, it should be a valid check-in date. A range of dates usually indicate a person either owns multiple weeks or has a floating week where he/she is not locked into one specific week to rent. I'm not sure how many resorts have mid-week to mid-week rental periods, but I'm sure there are owners that can make those types of arrangements. Owners that have Points systems (such as Sunterra) might be able to book mid-week stays. Other than that, my only suggestion would be to book a Friday check-in, and show up early. Even if your room is not ready many resorts will allow you to store luggage. If you want to take advantage of cheaper mid-week airfares, then you might want to consider getting a hotel room for the previous night. Sometimes the airfare savings more than pay for the extra night's expenses. I did this when I went to Aruba last year, and the only "downside" was that I had to spend an extra day in Aruba (oh darn!!!). Good Luck Mike
