Last summer, I stayed for 5 days in Maine. I was charged $56 for cleaning. On top of this, prior to check-out, RCI guests had do some basic cleaning else they would be charged $100. At most it would've taken an hour for staff to clean the unit. I wanted to apply for the $56/hour cleaning job myself.

Hi Mike: I agree that the "cleaning fees" are legalized larceny. A Vermont resort charged me $70 for a mid-week cleaning after my (2) guests had been there for (3) nights before I arrived to check in behind them. My intended point to "belanger" was merely that the robbery is by *the resort involved* -- not by RCI. I'm certainly no defender of RCI --- but fair is fair in placing blame. Heaven knows it's usually RCI to blame MOST of the time, so it's only fair to cut them some slack when it's NOT their fault.....

========== Ken,

To give credit where credit is due. When I complained to RCI that when I made the reservation, no one mentioned the cleaning fee, RCI refunded my exchange fee (as a credit to my account).
