Rental inquiry (by Mike N.):

vonei1,

I’m not sure if your criticism is directed at me or not, but… Your original post on 21 May stated, “I have my timeshare listed for rent with Redweek.com. It is at the Summer Bay Resort in Orlando. The town is like Clear something, but the resort backs up to Animal Kingdom. It is only about 5 minutes to Disney World. I have it for rent for only $980 for the week in a gorgeous Villa, June 29-July 6. I have not received one message on this. Has anyone tried to use Redweek before? I thought for sure someone would want this by now.”

In subsequent posts, ken1193 and jayjay provided some comments as to why you might not be getting any responses for your ad.

On 22 May you replied, “Thank you very much for the information. My price is competitive. All the others were higher. I will try the Bidshares, I had not heard of that so thank you very much.”

At this point all seems very cordial.

On 26 May, adahiscout questioned whether you can offer Summer Bay for rent as this is a Points resort as it may violate RCI’s policy of renting out exchanges. On 28 May, you replied, “Yes I have it reserved with points, then when it is rented it is transferred to the new person for a fee of $59 and they make them a reservation. Is this Ok?”

On 29 May, I responded to your “Is this Ok?” question with RCI rules on renting out a unit reserved with points, which all depends on how the points reservation was made. I apologize if I didn't interpret your statement of "Is this OK?" as a sarcastic remark. I couldn't quite tell just by reading the text. I can only assume I offended you by my answer with information that could help another member. If my interpretation of RCI’s rules was wrong then please provide the correct answer. There’s no need to start the insults. I’ve had enough of that from the nuns during my elementary school days :).

Then on 30 May you started your ranting. I am wondering why you are so worried about my rental unless you want to rent it. I have done nothing wrong. I am not so stupid to not check it out. You have no clue what I own, which is a ton of properties and this is not the first time I have done it, it is the first for Summer Bay. I can also rent out my property in Cancun. Maybe you can pick on someone else to argue with but I am tired of your answers unless you want to rent it. If you know what I own and what I can do then you can write but until that time, keep your nose where it belongs. I can't stand people like you that are so worried about what someone else is doing. Maybe get involved in community service and then you won't spend so much time worring about what I am doing. I spent a lot of time researching what to do and this is legal, even though you are a lawyer and say it is not. Thank you so much for worrying about me, but I do fine by myself.

I'm not a lawyer and no, I’m NOT worried about you or your rental; I was only responding to the previous posts. You were wondering about your summer Bay rental and people responded. HELLO...that's what forums are for. If some simple thread causes you to blow up like this I can’t imagine what happens to you in the event of a real crisis. I’ve never insulted other members and do not expect to be insulted by others. These forums are here to assist ALL members, regardless of the nature of the original question. Have a good summer mike1536
