It seems all this started when adahiscout asked vonei a simple question, "I'm rather surprised that you are able to offer your Summer Bay for rent. Isn't that an RCI Points resort? Or was it not yet in that organization when you bought? MD"?

I didn't see any sort of angst against you, it was a simple question that you took as someone accusing you of doing something wrong. If you had left it at that with your explanation of how points can be rented at Summer Bay, then it would have ended then and there, but you chose to take the defensive route.

Of course points can be rented but not here on Redweek. What you have to do here is choose a week with your points and then list that week for rent. You're probably doing best by depositing your Summer Bay points in RCI instead of renting it since you are asking far too much money, especially since you own a villa week (no balcony)and not a condo week (with balcony) and the condos are larger than the villas.

Like I stated in a previous post, Summer Bay has a lake on one side and Irlo Bronson Highway on the other side. You evidently misunderstood what the salesperson said which was more than likely, "Summer Bay is not far from the Disney parks", because it certainly doesn't back up to the parks in any form.

I'm not renting points out. I have called RCI, used my points and booked a week at Summer Bay. I can now rent it out and pay the $59 fee to transfer the name. Summer Bay does back up to an animal park and I know they told me it was Animal Kingdom, I will call to be sure, as far as Disney property, it is 6.4 miles from Wide World of Sports at Disney. My friends are there now and just drove and called me to let me know. Thank you for the clarification, but my question and answer time is now over. Have a great day.
The reservation is cancelled.
