Headache Caused by REDWEEK (by Mike N.):

Though with the state of education in the country, I'm not surprised. Can anyone explain to me WHY REDWEEK calculates a "Nightly Rate" for ALL of OUR Adverts? We are offering a 'Discount Rate' for a WEEK LONG Vacation. ALL Hotels/Motels give a Special for "Extended Stays" ... I have had countless disputes from prospective renters who expect to be able to choose individual nights for only 1/7th of my weekly rate. All Resorts (that I know of) charge EXTRA for each 'cleanup'.How can we get REDWEEK to STOP their arbitrary action? I at LEAST want to set MY own Rate for individual nights. Anyone agree?
That being said, the addition of the nightly rate adds absolutely nothing to the listing. For example, there is one owner who is using one ad to list multiple weeks of rentals in one ad, so he/she indicates 35 nights for $850. This breaks down to around $24/night. Of course in this case neither $850 for 35 nights nor $24/night was correct. The ad states the $850 is the rent for one week (not all 5).
I've had people request a partial week and I usually repond with, "No problem, it costs $xxx.xx" (the weekly rate).
You can send an email to RedWeek support staff. They will promptly answer AND tell you that your suggestion will be passed along to the proper dept. Your suggestion will then be placed in the circular file along with other suggestions by RedWeek members.
