Personally, I routinely try to go one step further when posting, deleting virtually EVERYTHING except the exact, specific point to which I am responding. I'll even insert an entirely new subject line if it seems that the subject has drifted too far off the original subject / topic within a thread. Unfortunately, however, some folks just post in the forums as though it was a "stream of consciousness" exercise, with no particular regard to the forum subject or even the particular thread subject. I'm certainly all for "free speech", but there is also nothing wrong with a little organizational effort, thought and consideration along the way. In an increasingly ADHD, "right now" society of semi-literate non-thinkers however, well.....let's just say that "hope springs eternal".
