Is there a local nursing home that provides adult daycare? If you mom only needs companionship for the afternoon (i.e. she doesn't have dementia or other medical ailment that would require extra attention), an older teenage sitter obtained by the resort or a local HS should be sufficient. The older generation loves to spend time with younger people.
