Did the Make a Wish Foundation provide you with a statement indicating the value of the donation? I know the IRS rules have changed regarding the donation of cars, boats, etc where the organization provides the "value" of the donation. This was to prevent people from donating junk cars and using the "retail" value for the deduction. Otherwise, the IRS usually requires an appraisal of some sort if property being donated exceeds a certain value.
