I am not asking for more than I paid for it initially so it should go fast being that its the Atlantis in the Bahamas, I have now learned from all of you. Thanks so much. I look forward to talking again soon.
In this economy, asking for more than you paid initially is risky business even for the higher end resorts (Marriott, Westin, Hilton, Hyatt, 4 Seasons, etc).
You would do good to get what you paid, but that's not very likely. Timeshares and leisure travel are the last thing on many people's minds these days with jobs and homes being lost due to the economy.
You might check Redweek's Atlantis/Bahama site to see how many timeshares have sold lately and at what prices ..... you'll probably be shocked. Also, you have to remember in order to get to the Bahamas you have to arrange for airline travel ..... something many people are simply not doing now.
If your week is in a very high demand season (re: summer) then you may consider trying to rent it at a competitive price (below other rentals listed unsuccessfully for the same time period).
