Disney Vacation Club drops II (by Marty F):
Disney Vacation Club has dropped Interval International as an exchange partner and is now exclusively with RCI.
From the Examiner.com:
One of the best benefits of being a Disney Vacation Club Member is the ability to exchange your DVC points for a non-Disney vacation.
The company affiliated with the DVC was Interval International, but the Disney Company made an exchange themselves. Resort Condominiums International (RCI) is the newest DVC affiliation Members can use to exchange their vacation points for a non-Disney vacation.RCI has almost 5,000 resorts around the world, making it the largest timeshare vacation exchange program available. There are also 87 resorts are in the Orlando area, with 16 of them on Walt Disney World property.
One of the companies to benefit from this move is Wyndham, the owner of RCI. The Orlando Sentinel stated that RCI added approximately 135,000 member families in an effort to lure DVC business from Interval International.
This exchange from Interval International to RCI has DVC Members wondering if the transition from one to another will be smooth. Stephen Holmes, Wyndham chairman and CEO, told the Orlando Sentinel the company is spending the money to make sure DVC is fully integrated into the RCI systems.
