Selling... (by KC):

Thanks...I am new to all of this. Did you post your ad other places besides Redweek? ....... I guess the hardest thing is trying to figure out how much to list the timeshare for. Thanks for the advice.

As far as determining asking price, it used to be (and probably still is) that the "full service" folks via RedWeek would do a market analysis for a reasonable fee, before and without also requiring you actually LIST with them. That would provide you with a range of prices (at a cost). I found their price range determinations to be reasonably accurate.

You can also just look through ads for your resort on sites like RedWeek and MyResortNetwork to see the range of asking prices on your own. Just keep in mind that in order to sell successfully, you will likley have to be the lowest price around for a week like your own, particularly in this weak and sour economy. If you want to see truly "rock bottom" selling figures, try to find a week like yours among the "closed" auctions on eBay --- those numbers are about as low as selling figures go...

Oh, and yes --- I found MY buyer on RedWeek; quite promptly, in fact. Another buyer also promptly appeared from an ad I had placed on MyResortNetwork, but the RedWeek buyer had inquired first so the RedWeek buyer got the week.

Unfortunately, the timeshare resale market has since bottomed out, so I sincerely hope that your week / location is a highly desirable one. Orlando / Kissimmee weeks, for example, are available for about "a dime a dozen" these days. In any case, good luck with selling.
