Absolutely correct. There was no buyer before, there is no "new potential buyer" now --- and there will be no buyer at any point in the future. You can call back in 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years, but you will never hear from these people again. In fact, they will likley be out of business and long gone, operating under an entirely new name before this new year is even over. Sorry, but you've quite simply been "had" and your "upfront fee" is indeed likely gone forever.
