I don't know anything about your company system, but if (by your own words) you get points issued "every other year" that is obviously NOT annual --- it's biennial.

EOY (even) means that points are issued every other year (in even numbered years).

EOY (odd) means that points are issued every other year (in odd numbered years).

Usage rules and "shelf life" for issued points is something which varies considerably from one company / system to another. Again, I have no knowledge of the use or expiration rules in YOUR particular system.
