Re: RCI Innovations Inc. (by Beck):

Well, I guess I haven't exactly paid the $2,896. I did return a contract where I authorized RCI Innov to charge my card that amount, but I added an addendum to the contract which ties them to specific requirements if they charge my card. I haven't called them to find out why they haven't charged the card, but they stopped calling me after I faxed the amended contract.

I completely agree most people are apparently not suited for entering into transactions with these companies. The First Choice Advocates guy said there were multiple people he spoke with who admitted they had paid more than three of these cold calling companies $1,500+ each time, and they didn't understand they should stop doing that I guess.

And yes, by allowing the time period to go past 60 days I enter into a risky predicament. My AMEX and Capital One have said they would process a dispute for transactions over 60 days old but I won't really know until I actually do it. You are absolutely correct the only way to know I can dispute the charge without risk is to dispute within 60 days. My plan was to dispute the charge just before 60 days if it did not appear the terms of my amendment were being met, since in order to complete a sale within 90 days quite a few things would need to be completed by 60 days.
