I'm a member of Monarch, have several timeshares there myself. You could have either bought your timshare with "Annual Points" meaning those points are issued every year, or you could buy one with points issued every other year.
For those points that are issued only every other year, your "anniversary date", or the date that they are issued, could be in any month, in either an odd or an even year. Either way, you have 2 years from the date that the points are issued, to use them.. You can also deposit them in Interval International, to gain some additional time, if you need it.
I have both annual points, as well as EOY points. You simply pay more for the annual points, but you can use them more frequently.
