Anything is better than giving your hard earned money to a post card company! Its better to just give the units away and maybe offer to pay couple years maintenance fee's to new owners. This way some family might be able to own and enjoy the unit for years to come.
Most resorts will not take the units back because they lose the maintenance fee's until someone takes it. If your dealing with your own resort and know the people your working with then go for it and write that $89.00 check before they change their minds. Many nice resorts that are sold out and only have resales like ours has changed to points to make more money. Last July we sold one of our units for summer months for $2000 while enjoying our week to another owner. The owner like us wanted a second week and our buildings but the Ridge now only sells in points. This family only wanted deeded unit and we sold in less than two hours with the resort financing dept helping us as we were all owners there!
