The fact that they contacted your parents is usually a sign of a scam.

As for getting your parents out of their contract, that can only be done by rescinding within the allotted time (no more than 10 days from the purchase date).

I am not going to outright say they are a scam but do not pay anybody a large, upfront fee to sell, rent out, market, or "cancel" a timeshare.
