I wish to report of my visit to Belaire/U Hotel that I went to this week. I arrived the day before and while speaking to the guard a young lady walked up. She told me she had been interviewed for a job as a receptionist by a Mr Capella and even showed me his calling card which read John Anthony Capella. Sounds so similiar to Antonio Copela. This man card said that he was in the entertainment business in Mexico City. I arrived the next day and was met by a young man. He told me the boss was being held up as he had to take his wife to her mother's house. He took me into the resturant area and after discussing the ducks and alligator I asked him if they are doing any selling. He told me that they stopped three weeks ago. I asked him what they were selling and he told me that they were still selling units with a no maintenance fee provision and a buy back in two years included among other things. Sound familiar. The "Boss Man" arrived and I was directed into the sales room. He told me that he was their legal counsel. He started by telling me that my diamond exec. suite was now worth $124,900 up from $114,900. WOW. This U Hotel is connected to the resort of the same name in Thailand, but the hotel in Thailand has denied this. He told me that the reasons they are not doing construcion is that if they wait 4 years they will realize a 42% tax break. Also they can buy steel for 42 cents from Thailand and they would have to pay the Mexican government $2.80 for the same amount, He denied that they are doing any selling but that they allowed another group to use the facilities to promote a vacation club, but they are no longer there. He encouraged me to get in line for the buyout as they are now giving people back their money. This is the last week that they were taking the $9800 for the buyout. Mr. Alan Dale is handling this. He told me the money was coming from the casino profits from the business that they own. I told him I knew someone who looked for Mr Dale at the address but no one by that name was there. He told me ATT is not at the address that they give out either. He denied knowing anything about the newsletter and who wrote it. I asked about the meeting with Profeco that was to be held in Mexico City in December, but of course he knew nothing about it. By the way, the towers will each hold 108 suites and that means there will be a total of 216 of them. They must each be the size of a large closet. We stayed the week at Velas Vallarta and each morning as I left our suite directly ahead were the iron bars of U Hotel. The view has not changed in three years. The whole situation is so sad.
