Jim: Odd day rentals - I only know Marriott but under the new Destinations points system, an owner could tailor a rental period to your precise timeframe. The problem is that Friday and Saturday nights are very expensive in points in relation to the other days of the week. If I were you, I would try to get a 5 day rental from Sunday night thru Friday morning. This would be less costly. Considering the weekend cost, we have considered staying in a hotel near an attraction for the weekend days and staying at the resort for the Sunday to Friday period.
Unfortunately, Redweek and Interval have not fully adapted to less than 1 week periods for trades and rentals. I suspect that they will eventually follow the trend to enable rentals/uses that can be more flexible. If you look at Redweek rental listings, you will find some 5 day rentals that I suspect were acquired using Marriott Dest. pts. Someone acquired the period and decided they no could no longer use it.
One other thought - I suspect if you knew exactly what you wanted and committed in advance, a Marriott Dest. pts owner could acquire exactly what you want.
