If you're 65 years old you may not care about your credit rating so it may be to your advantage to stop paying maintenance fees and have the resort foreclose on you. I don't like to give this kind of advice because foreclosures and non paying maintenance fees are passed on to other owners of the resort, but at you're age this may be your only choice in this economy.
