Don, I do not know that I have made any statement about being "intelligent" Where have I said that? I have, at least once, made the statement that I am NOT as knowledgeable as you and Jay Jay about timeshares.
About my willingness to entertain his offer: I rejected the original proposal from the SHR people which involved PRL and VSI and Cooke made a counter-offer that posed no risk to me involving PRL. I have been pretty persistent about making it clear to him that I am willing to discuss that offer both on this forum and in one email with no result. I am not a detractor of Mr. Cooke. Nor am I a champion of his. I consider myself neutral. You and Jay Jay do not share my perspective that entertaining Mr. Cooke's offer is a reasonable "test" of his trustworthiness. After being slammed on this forum, to satisfactorily "deliver" to one neutral party and two detractors would redeem his company's reputation on this forum. To fail to "deliver' would mean that he failed to redeem his company's reputation. In the interest of fairness to him, that strikes me as reasonable to pursue. To use the metaphor of a previous post: If Mr. Cooke gives you a $100 bill with no commitment on your part, you could go to the bank and check and see if it is counterfeit. If it is, you report back here. If it is not, you report back here. You are not "damaged" by taking the bill in your hand and checking it out at the bank. In fact, you have done a service to the forum by dealing with the fact of the bill's authenticity rather than an opinion that is not verified. In my email to Mr. Cooke (which remains unanswered), I told him that I would report back to this forum the results - positive or negative - of dealing with him. That is what I am doing. That is what I intend to do.
