I love when people mensioned the BBB on these sites. You can generally tell people referencing it are probable fast food workers. Here's what I see, you got a guy with the worst profile pic I have ever seen calling a guy pond scum and worried about people renting their RCI weeks. There are obviously ways to do it. He mentions that there are ways with guest certificates to get it done. Those are $59.95 and secure the timeshare owner of no-liability of the stay, and secures the renter's reservation in their name. How does that not make sense? You stick up for RCI? They had a class action in 2009 over renting weeks that should be going in the exchange. Ever wonder why you can't exchange into hawaii but you can buy it from the rci website for $1350? They would rather  make the extra money. Enjoy all of the weeks in Spirit Lake, Iowa, French Lick, Indiana, and the assorted Silverleaf resorts. It didn't always used to be this way. I was a member of RCI from 1981-2004. I remember back when it worked. You would get what you want and then if no one took your week, RCI would call you and ask if you wanted to use it. This trading power points is the biggest Rci  scam yet. 4-5 new ways to be able to charge you... Now another that but RCI class action card went out in July 2012. Do you think RCI is awesome DonP? Well then your like a battered woman that continues to take the beatings because you don't think you can do any better. When Wyndham acquired RCI from Cendant in 2005 things went WAY downhill.  However DonP, even though RCI rents the desirable weeks that should be in the exchange, exchange fees have gone from $79USA/$99INT in 1995 to $194 in 2012, while adding a fee to book on the phone, have had 2 class action lawsuits against them in the the last 4 years, have been rapidly decreasing their indianapolis and new jersey call-centers to move calls to India for lower costs, and  have been adding new fees to their program yearly, THERE IS SOMETHING YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE.... READY???... They have an "A+" Rating with the BBB so they are awesome as far as you're concerned you goofball. :-) I enjoyed your rant on the "Pond Scum" that looks like he charges a one time fee to move people's weeks for income to offset dues and have some money left over. What a scamming jerk. Only RCI should be able to continuously screw people. I mean, good gosh they do have an "A+" bbb rating. So they got to be good. Hahaha

Good luck everybody

You're comparing apples to oranges. What RCI does or doesn't do is of NO consequence. They set the Rules and Regulations for members and renting an exchange, a deposited week or points is AGAINST their rules (that sentence has always been in their Rules and Regulations if you care to read them). If you don't like their rules then leave with your membership in hand. There are other exchange companies out there.
