Westgate (nor any other timeshare developer or resort) does not have to ACCEPT a quit claim deed .... if they won't then the timeshare will still be in the owner's name.
Also, it's not like these people were bilked by some type of scam. They knowingly signed a contract to buy the timeshare but for whatever reason can't use it anymore.
Westgate has ultra nice resorts .... the owner of the aforementioned timeshare should be able to give it away in Redweek's Bargain Basement if their week is in bright red season.
