I am an attorney in New York who was taken in this scam. For me, it was very similar with a few changes. I got a phone call for an update on my bankrupt time share. I owned a time share in Greene County, NY that went bankrupt after 5 years due to suspcious activity of the owners. I met them at a Cheesecake Factory and was told that if I sold my old bankrupt timeshare to a company in Tennesee that they would reduce the price from 27K to 10.5K. I got 40K bonus points and 50K points (give or take) a year for SHR. I was also suppose to get a free one year membership with RCI. I was to get my first check in April, 2013 for the 40K and a check in July 2013 for the 50K. That because of a lawsuit settlement with RCI that they were making this one time deal and I had to make a decision that day subject to a period of recission. Because I could unload my bankrupt timeshare and rent out the timeshare so I can pay for the old bankrupt timeshare that is still on my HELOC, I agreed. I got a letter from the Tenn. company to give over ownership to my timeshare. It seems OK. However RCI has no account for me; I have no points; never got a check from PRL. The 1-855 number was never answered and did not get a call back. I talked with the named person from SHR. I have put in for a chargeback from the RCI credit card given at the time & will submit a complaint to the NY attorney General. I wondering if anyone can give me any advice how else to proceed from here and I will promise to provide any updates to this thread so other people can get their money back. Particularly I would like to talk with anyone who applied for a charge back on their credit card and why they were given a chargeback or denied a chargeback. I am also wondering if anyone had a contact with Excess Property Solutions and whether they will agree to rent these properties at .075 a point or if this is part of the scam as well. The saleman who sold me this timeshare is still in contact with me and seems to want to help but also seems to not have his phone calls returned either. He said I should contact Exclusive Vacations to see if they will help. After three phone calls no return phone call. He also told me EPS was going to take over for PRL by March 1, 2013. I have heard nothing and wondering if anyone else has heard the same.
