Watch for scam from The KeyCorp Group, Inc. (by Katherine C.):
I was recently contacted by someone from The KeyCorp Group, Inc claiming that they had found a buyer for our timeshare. We don't have it listed for sale any where, so it felt suspicious. They claimed that they had a buyer for our Wyndham property in Hawaii and that they wanted to offer us $24,885 (which is what we bought it for 8 years ago). They explained the sales process and it all sounded about right - but something felt off. They said we could use their closing company for $1280 or we were welcome to use our own title company for the closing. We communicated for about a week and when I finally told him we were ready to proceed and that we would be using First American Title, he got a little huffy and said "Well, I guess you don't need us, then." I said that I was confused, that he had clearly stated that we could use whatever title co. we chose. I asked him what the next step in the process was and he said he would contact me later with the buyer's info so that I could get the title co. process started. I knew that I would never hear from him again at that point. I contacted him 2 days later, asking for the buyer's contact info, to which he replied that his buyers weren't comfortable buying from us because they didn't know us. If you've heard of this company, I'd love to know what dealings you've had or what you've heard.
