Re: anyone been to this resort? (by Madashell):
We just got back from staying at Bahia Turquesa formerly known as Coco Sunset. When we checked in we unfortunately did the wrong move by signing up for the timeshare presentation. They are marketing rentals that are not even under construction. But their sales pitch is good, convincingly good. we bought into into it and after all was signed , we did the research and found out it was a scam. You can't find any info on the internet of Las Playas de Palmas TM, Nor their Parent company Meridian.. The website they provide was made last summer, even though they claim it has been in business for 10+ years. The phone numbers they provide are unreachable making me believe that they are just Magic Jack numbers, since I used to have one.. We called our timeshare to find out if they indeed called them since they would of needed the Deed # to make a contract for us to sign, since part of the deal was for them to take one of our timeshares off our hands to reduce the price of their timeshare. No inquiry was made, which meant that we would not see the $24,000.00 check they would "mail us within 300 days" for the resale of our timeshare. A couple who recognized us from the timeshare presentation, approached us to let us know that it was a scam and they too found that out after they signed up and then did the research. When they came back to cancel the contract, they were told that their files were "lost", how convenient for them.... We both had to put freezes on our social security , existing credit cards, cancel and report fraud on the credit cards we were tricked into signing up for..... For anyone who is reading and has been scammed too, please post your experiences on trip advisor and anywhere else. People need to know the truth. If you want to know more details of my experience reply back..
