The trick at this resort is that when you check in, you have to appear to be very interested in the timeshare pitch. Then they will "magically" have a much nicer room and "upgrade" you. They called that an "owner unit" when they upgraded us. Pity the poor owner who bought that unit! The furnishings were the cheapest crap imaginable, but at least it was decently clean and we did not have the troubles you did.

It's a black mark on Interval Intl that they keep hawking these bonus weeks to their unsuspecting clientele. I guess they haven't read this thread, or maybe they did but just don't give a care about what it does to their reputation.
