I'll be interested to understand how the new points system supposedly impacted the value of Marriott timeshares. Haven't timeshares always taken a substantial hit in value the minute after they were purchased?

From what I've observed, Marriott timeshares, good seasons and locations, sell for no more than 25% of the original cost, even Newport. Does anyone remember it ever being any better than this?
