Most of the time the owners are diligent and trustworthy. Sometimes they are not. The make mistakes, they don't do thousands of rentals like a company, they sometimes intentionally or mistakenly misrepresent their actual view as ("partial ocean view" no such "official" thing.) In this case, below, an owner misrepresented a Studio as a 1bedroom, and refused to make it right. The owner occupied the 1bedroom side of a 2bedroom lock out, and refused to let our client rightly use the 1bedroom side, even though we had "non-cancel-able" rental agreements clearly stating 1bedroom on them. We informed our valued client of the situation, and did everything in our power to get the owner to honor the contract. He refused and offered to refund the money and have our client with no where to stay, which of course was not an option. They were forced to stay in the studio side and were rightly upset. We have to take the responsibility for the issue even though our client actually spoke to the owner on site, which did him no good. We do our best to make things right with our clients and will make things right with him as well.
While problems with booking are an anomaly and extremely rare, they can happen. We stand behind our clients and have no unresolved complaints that we have not made right.
We have been in business for more than 10 years and even longer than RedWeek, and we have only a handful of "resolved" complaints out of thousands and thousands of fabulous vacation rentals world wide.
