Dear Co-Members & Jasons 139 (our valued client) from Vacation Homes Only Management.
We wrote about this situation above as well above re: other suggesting only renting directly from "owners". This is a prime example of a lay person (owner) being involved with someones vacation. We also made RedWeek management aware of the owner that breached their rental agreement causing the problem with our clients reservation.
Most of the time the owners are diligent and trustworthy. Sometimes they are not. The make mistakes, they don't do thousands of rentals like a company, they sometimes intentionally or mistakenly misrepresent their actual view as ("partial ocean view" no such "official" thing.)
In this case, below, an owner misrepresented a Studio as a 1bedroom, and refused to make it right. The owner occupied the 1bedroom side of a 2bedroom lock out, and refused to let our client rightly use the 1bedroom side, even though we had "non-cancel-able" rental agreements clearly stating 1bedroom on them. We informed our valued client of the situation after trying to encourage the owner to honor the signed "non-cancel-able", and did everything in our power to get the owner to honor the contract.
He refused and offered to refund the money and have our client with no where to stay, which of course was not an option. There were no other units available and our client had valued client had their vacation flights and everything booked. They were forced to stay in the studio side and were rightly upset.
Due to a law breaking, unrepentant, nefarious owner, Vacation Homes Only have to take the responsibility for the issue even though our client actually spoke and pleaded with the owner on site, which did him no good.
We do our best to make things right with our clients and will make things right with Jason as well. We will award him a refund/adjustment and deal with the contract breaching owner ourselves.
We appreciate our valued client allowing us to make things right.
