Re: Donate For A Cause transfer co. Timeshare Specialists (by Lance C.):

Actually, Donate for a Cause usually does what it says it does. I would make doubly sure that, if you proceed with DFC, DFC actually signs a deed transfer and not a Power of Attorney.

The one thing that seems a little puzzling to me is that DFC is charging "only" $1025 plus the next maintenance fee. DFC usually charges more.

However, you can do what Don P suggested and, with a little effort, you might be able to get rid of your unit for a lot less money. The other suggestion would be to advertise your unit for "sale" on websites such as RedWeek's Bargain Basement, E-Bay, My Resort Network, Timeshare Users Group (aka "TUG"; tugbbs.com), or even Bid Shares. Mention that you are wanting to give it away and offer to pay the closing costs ( a lot less than $1025) plus the next maintenance fee.
