In November, 2014, we contacted Wyndham to get rid of our 750,000 points. I thought maybe I would just have to sign the deed back to them. To my surprise - they said they would either "buy them back" OR I could have usage of timeshare for 3 years without paying maintenance fees. I chose to have them buy the points back. They only paid about 15 cents on the dollar, but it was enough for us. We dumped over $300 a month in maintenance fees. We have travelled to resorts since selling our Wyndham points, and it seems Wyndham is a lot nicer than most. We also had a Hawaii Timeshare with DIAMOND INTERNATIONAL and they ONLY way we could "dump" it was to pay a company to take the deed. It was all handled properly but it cost us an additional $1500 which was another year's maintenance fees basically...
