Yep, just gotta love that 'hedge against inflation' argument! I remember my fees were increased one year by 20%+ and they put in the not that 'strong economy, wages high etc'. A year later, the GFC happened, and excuse for a 30%+ increase was "weak economy, defaults' etc. Seems that the only thing we can rely upon is them lining their own pockets. I get the feeling that a class action is going to happen soon, and yes, I would be in that also!
