Re: Open Letter to Steve Cloobeck, Diamond Resorts International CEO (by Irene P.):

Diamond Clarity is a response to the Arizona Attorney General's "Assurance of Discontinuance" but certain aspects of Clarity are disturbing. For example, with buyer permission, the QA session will be recorded. I told the DRI PR Firm this only serves to harm the buyer. What needs to be recorded is the sales session because that is where all the "oral representations" take place. I am encouraging owners not to attend a sales presentation unless the sales agent agrees to being recorded. Without their knowledge it is illegal wiretapping and not admissible in court.

One very sophisticated owner who seems to know more about points than the craftiest DRI sales person launched a new Diamond Resorts Owners Advocate Facebook this past Saturday. As of this minute there are already 54 members. The goal is not to see how many hundreds of people we can get to join, but to provide a place for only owners with legitimate concerns to go. If you want to know which Diamond Resort has the best swimming pools, join a different DRI Facebook.

The article above published today by Inside Timeshare explains the concept. Jeff Weir of RedWeek and Greg Crist of NTOA are already members. The other DRI FB pages try to discourage negative comments or write us off as dummies who don't know how to use points. The Mission:

We seek to provide Diamond Resort members a way to proactively address membership concerns; to advocate for timeshare reform; to obtain greater disclosure from the company; to advocate for a viable secondary market; and to educate prospective buyers.
