Try contacting the resort on your own and plead your own case to them. Let them know that it is a hardship to you and that you need to exit your ownership. Explain to them that it would be in everyone's best interest to work together to let you give it back . It could be financially beneficial to the resort to work with you . I did that with two timeshares in 2011 and they both took them back . I explained to them that I was going to get rid of them with or without their cooperation and they realized I was serious and they worked with me. It only took a few weeks and there was only minimal expense to process the paperwork. You might even negotiate paying them the next years maintenance fees to give them time to find a new owner . That would be a lot cheaper than paying an attorney . Good luck .
