Re: Manhattan Club Lawsuit (by Chris V.):

hi marios64,

here's my take on GIVING BACK OUR SHARES IN THE MANHATTAN CLUB:

GIVE BACK UNDER THE FOLLOWING CIRCUMSTANCES: 1. you are financially unable to keep up with the exorbitantly high maintenance fees. 2. you try to make desirable reservations but that rarely takes place. 3. you prefer accommodations other than TMC because you dislike the place. if you fit into any of the above categories, GIVE YOUR OWNERSHIP AWAY (RELUCTANTLY, IN MY OPINION.)

OTHERWISE: DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GIVING AWAY SOMETHING OF INHERENT VALUE IF YOU DO, EICHNER WILL PROBABLY GET A PIECE OF THE ACTION THROUGH SOME FORM OF HIS BRILLIANTLY ADVISED LEGAL WRANGLING. EICHNER IS AN INCREDIBLY BRIGHT AND AGGRESSIVE BUSINESSMAN. HE SURROUNDS HIMSELF WITH THE BEST ADVISORS AVAILABLE AND USUALLY COMES OUT UNSCATHED. (THE RESULT OF THE RECENT LEGAL PROCEEDING: NYSAG VS EICHNER/TMC, SEEMS TO POINT THAT OUT. he was fined $6.5m (a pittance in reference to the number of owners who would benefit from it) and the fact of his being barred from further timeshare business. ha, that would be easy for him to circumvent. he could easily set up a dummy company and be right back in the timeshare industry if he chose to do so. if you can afford the maintenance fees, can make reasonably suitable reservations, and think that TMC has what you like....e.g, location, suite/studio accommodation, KEEP IT AT LEAST UNTIL YOU ARE MADE AWARE OF WHAT THE LAWSUIT SETTLEMENT WILL BE AND WHO WILL BE THE NEW OWNERS.

the statements above are strictly my opinion........................... even though i oppose the rising, exponentially exorbitant maintenance fees (it's somewhat of a challenge to keep up with the raises), sometimes don't have issues with reservations, and i think TMC's location is nearly perfect. OBVIOUSLY, I'M TEMPORARILY KEEPING MY TMC SHARE (2 WEEKS).

think about it. perhaps a new owner will be MORE CONSIDERATE REGARDING THE ABOVE NEGATIVES. WE OWNERS DESERVE A CHANGE FOR THE BETTER HAVING BEEN DUPED, SCAMMED, LIED TO AND DEFRAUDED BY EICHNER AND HIS COHORTS. keep in touch.

Well, guess I'll request the list, I was selling my timeshare but the buyer backed out when we found out about the lawsuit, they didn't want any trouble with a new membership(new to them), I mean I wouldn't either. My wife called a couple of weeks ago trying to give the membership back but they refused to do so, any ways is worth the attempt.
