You can indeed "rent" points from another person, Marriott fully supports this process and they can add those one time points to your account. 50-60 cents per point is reasonable IMHO. Definitely do *not* purchase them from Marriott! As you can see, a lot of money. Maybe someone here will make you an offer. I always use everything I have myself. Heading to Palm Desert next month, and, Spain in May amongst others.
