Re: Manhattan Club Lawsuit (by Debra L.):
Unbelievable how this group went from "defrauded owners against TMC" to "those who have paid against those who haven't paid"! As soon as the case with AG seemed to come to some kind of settlement, TMC admitting and stipulating to the fraud they were accused of, and AG giving them what seems nothing more than a slap on the hand, owners started turning on each other. Everyone made their decisions, to pay or not to pay, for their own reasons...and we should all respect each others decisions. If you chose to pay the exorbitant and ever increasing fees, and have to make reservations 9+ months in advance, while rooms are being rented out to the public in the meantime, that's your decision. That, among many other things, is NOT what I was sold and bought into. Those of us who have decided that we already got screwed enough and refuse to throw good money after bad, into what was proven to be a fraudulent transaction..well, that's our decision...and if there are consequences for that decision, then so be it. I'll take my chances. I resent seeing people that paid being portrayed as foolish and people that didn't pay being portrayed as deadbeats. This has to stop. We were all duped and each of us made our own decisions as to how to deal with it. And Williamm465..whoever you are, you are entitled to your opinion absolutely, but it's getting annoying, you constantly trying to instill fear in people who have not paid. The last one was a doozy... that you spoke to someone at the Manhattan Club and that those of us who haven't paid are "in big trouble". Like I believe anything that anyone at TMC says! I mean that's the point of all of this, that they have constantly and consistently lied to us owners. I'm starting to think that some people like you who have continued to pay are upset that those of us that didn't might actually NOT suffer any consequences for it and you're just upset at yourselves that you continued to pay into a fraudulent transaction, when maybe in the end you really didn't have to. Either way people, please stop turning on one another.. Again I repeat, everyone made a personal decision on how to proceed, for personal reasons, and I have no doubt that each and every one of us put a lot of thought into whatever decision was made. Let's stop trying to make each other feel bad about those decisions and just respect what each person chose to do. Either way we all entered into a fraudulent contract based on fraudulent misrepresentation and that was proven by the AG. It's the Manhattan Club that we should be upset with and Eichner and his gang not each other.
