My husband and I had a Wyndham 1 week timeshare in New Orleans we only paid maintenance fees for and when we went in Oct, 2016 they invited us to a seminar about a program to be able to move the time share locations around so we could go other places. Wyndham Vacation Resorts and Club Wyndham. Thought it was a good idea and after 8 hours, with no food or breaks and constant pressure, we signed the papers. Once I got home and we started getting the bills, reality set in and the costs are outrageous. They put over $12,000 on a Barclay credit card and financed the other $8850 with Wyndam for a total cost of just over $21,000. There is a Paypal account but I never followed through with the set up so I am not sure if we owe any money to them. The monthly payments total almost $400 and when it is all settled, I will have paid over $15,000 to Wyndham, $33,388 to Barclay and not sure how the Wyndham Club and Paypal work into all of that. That is over twice what the original cost was! I paid Wyndam, Wyndam Plus, and Barclay until February, 2017 and then signed up with Castle Law Group, who encouraged me to stop all the payments. Paid $3500 up front and have never heard from them again. I read about the lawsuits and other complaints. I have tried reaching them since June, 2017 and phone numbers don't work, emails were getting kicked back, and website is shut down for construction. I have already contacted the BBB, Attorney General, and Board of Professional Responsibility and filed complaints like suggested in this forum. I am extremely hesitant to pay for someone else to help me get out of this mess. I read about other people who got out of it themselves. I want to do that too but I have no idea where to start and who to contact first, and I am getting confused with the contract and all the information out there and I am not sure who to trust anymore. This forum seems like a very good place to start and I like that there are people on this website that actually stick up for people posting and protect them from other predators and scammers. So I signed up today and I am reaching out for any help, guidance, and advice.
