Re: Manhattan Club Lawsuit (by Nathan Z.):

I think people should do what they think is right for themselves. If they can't be bothered to look back a few pages on the Redweek blog to locate the attorney's email, there is a larger problem than the lack of navigability. Facebook won't help them as much as it helps an attorney looking to assemble a list of potential plaintiffs. Other folks just can't get enough of the MC saga and will happily be a (silent) part of any group discussion. IMHO, we also have a substantial number of readers/contributors here who are simply tired of the MC/New York experience or their ownership obligations, not uncommon for developments of a certain age, but very different from a legally actionable matter. Before I'm accused of shilling for the MC, let me say, I'm also sure that a good many owners were misled and lied to; the investigation and settlement made that clear; and many more owners were inconvenienced by the reservation issues. All this is true. But if there are 15,000+ owners and only 200 (roughly 1%) are sufficiently motivated to even register on the attorney's site (for all causes of dissatisfaction), I would say we've done well to have a settlement negotiated at all. Certain members of this group have "moved heaven and earth" to get the AG to invest their resources and to get this far. I am just very skeptical of the ability to move much further.
