Re: Tell me your opinions: Shouldn't there be a listing of timeshare weeks that are in demand? (by William P.):
I must admit, I'm some what confused in your questioning of "users and owners" in the first paragraph, of users posting and users contacting to narrow down dates. Assuming you meant owners contacting users, it seems to me you are a different type of site where owners can look to see if anyone wants to rent the week/resort that they own. IMO, the format laid out and used by this and other sites available all ready do that, in that I post my week, if you want it fine if you don't that fine also. Understanding that what your abdicating is another means to rent or sell by means of the "owner" making contact with "user". I see it just another means of getting your property out to the "users". I personally am satisfied with the formats laid out in that you state your property, dates, resorts, if they want it ...OK, if not OK. As to the checks and balances you refer to, in the template for rental or sale I have developed I just add their name along with dates of occupancy, and possible return of monies along with time line to where I can revert back to points. In the initial contact I provide proof of ownership/reservation of week to be checked by prospective "user". As you stated. high demand/resorts will always be rented, and I have never had a problem renting or selling on Red week or sites like them.
