Re: Vida Vacations & Grand Mayan lies (by Tomas R.):
Dear readers,
I am one of the many victims of the Vidanta timeshare selling. If you people would like to do something about this, then follow my example and write to the partners of Vidanta and to the press. Complaining at Vidanta will not help much, but some partners of Vidanta, such as the Cirque du Soleil, can't afford to get a bad coverage and might be persuaded to break their relation with Vidanta, if they get a lot of complaints and/or negative press coverage regarding their relation with Vidanta. I've just send the following e-mail to Cirque du Soleil. I you people follow my example, we might be able to change something:
Dear Cirque du Soleil,
I'm writing you because you are a close partner of the Mexican grupo Vidanta. Your theater at the Riviera Maya is connected to the hotels of Vidanta. Is Cirque du Soleil aware of the dubious reputation of the grupo Vidanta? They have a rather bad name as regard to their time share selling. They use very aggressive and dubious sales techniques to sell their visitors highly overpriced memberships. On the internet you can find many stories on their embezzlements. On the timeshare exchange site Redweek for instance Vidanta is one of the timeshare companies that is mentioned the most as an untrustworthy timeshare company (https://www.redweek.com/forums/messages?thread_id=18037;page=25;query=). On consumers affairs sites you also find numerous complaints about Vidanta (https://www.consumeraffairs.com/travel/vida-vacations.html or https://www.timesharescam.com/blog/200-vidanta-timeshare/) Also on Tripadvisor you can find many warnings about the timeshare selling of Vidanta (https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g1575477-i14532-k9881718-Vidanta_resorts_is_a_scam_Do_not_buy_a_timeshare-Jalisco.html)
On the site of Cique du Soleil you can find, at https://www.cirquedusoleil.com/citizenship/procurementpartnerships the following words about its partnerships:
Cirque du Soleil has a social responsibility clause in its partnership agreements. This clause covers a set of social responsibility parameters, such as employee relations and working conditions, responsible procurement, environmental protection and social and cultural action in the community.
Now the big question is: how does Cirque du Soleil rhyme its high ethical standards with the dubious reputation of its close partner Grupo Vidanta?
Yours sincerely,
Dr. Tomas Raming
