Renting out partial timeshare week

Jul 13, 2007

Has anybody done this before? I would like to use a few nights of our timeshare week and rent out the other nights. I figure this should be OK since I understand that we are allowed to let friends/relatives to use some nights of our week reservation. Also, is there a standard letter for authorizing guest use of your timeshare week? Anybody has a sample? Thanks!

This is perfectly legal as long as you're not renting part of an exchange for monetary gain. You can gift or give the remainder of an exchange to friends or family.

If you outright own the week all you have to do is let the front desk know that other people (their name) will be checking in and using the ramainder of your week. It is legal to charge what you wish for the remaining days since you own the week.
