With all the hurricanes that hit Florida a few years ago insurance and taxes have skyrocketed and timeshares have to pass that increase on to owners. Insurance is included in maintenance fees but some are taxed separately.
Is Florida difficult to sell? That depends on where/what you own in Florida. Florida is oversupplied with timeshares and there are millions of resales in the marketplace. If you should buy, be sure and buy on the resale market. You can save a LOT of money.
