Buying, Renting, and Selling Timeshares

Selling Timeshare to an Advertising or Marketing Company

Jul 15, 2008

I'm trying to sell my 1 bd, 1bth, deeded, float 1 wk, biennial odd years, not points or with any Exchange program at the Wyndham Pahio Bali Hai Villas in Kauai HI. I was approached by a Timeshare Resale & Rental Marketing Company (RealtyTrade) to sell my timeshares. Their cost to sell is $1295. Is this a good way to sell my timeshares or should I go to a real estate broker/agent if I don't know anything about all the legal paperworks necessary to selling a timeshare?

The BBB caution timeshare owners not to confuse the service of an advertising or marketing company to that of a real estate company. What's the best way of selling your timeshares without being scammed or confused? There are many suggestions and advises on this forum but I'm hoping I can get tips on the step by step of selling my timeshares since I have no experience with timeshares.

================== First, NEVER PAY AN UPFRONT FEE TO SELL OR RENT A TIMESHARE

At the top of the page is a link to "Resources". There you will find some tips for selling. For additional information go to TUG (www.tug2.net).

I never heard of that company and I talk to quite a few of them. Defintely check everyone out at the BBB.ORG. I don't think Realtors work with timeshares. They are the only one's that can take a commission, but don't sell them for lack of money to be made on the sale. The one thing I did learn through this process is PRICING your timeshare right is the biggest key to success. I hope this helps!! Robert
