Sure -- it's pure nonsense and BS. Remember rule number one about timeshare sales people --"if their lips are moving, they are probably lying".
Mike 1536 has already stated it quite well --- they are trying to sell you (again) something you own already. Why anyone would ever choose to buy all over again something which they ALREADY own is just entirely beyond my comprehension. Conversion to points might be a great revenue generator for the resort, but it is generally of no particular use or value or magic to an exisiting week owner. On the contrary, someone who owns a prime fixed week could very easily discover that, after converting to points, they can't even get back into the week which they USED to OWN with guaranteed annual access, without even making a reservation! That's just plain crazy, in my personal view and opinion.
